Hi team,
The march toward publication of Song for War continues at pace!
We are excited to report that earlier this week we received samples from the manufacturer, Hero Time. Check out a few of the images below for a quick look-in. Invicta Rex Games spent the weekend deep in review of components and will be sending all feedback imminently. Soon after, the game goes into full production!
And there is more good news! We recently selected proven provider Quartermaster Logistics for fulfillment, shipping, and warehousing support. That way, we can help ensure Song for War will be in good hands as it makes its way to gaming tables around the world.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Song for War and for all things WWII strategy gaming! We will be back in touch soon.

Happy New Year to all of our Song for War backers!
We used the time off during the holiday break to keep the progress going toward our delivery goal of Summer 2026.
- Most importantly, we made a final selection of our manufacturing partner for Song for War. After careful consideration of several providers, we went with Hero Time - here's their link: (https://herotime1.com/ ). The process has been insightful and educational. We are actively submitting the key files for manufacturer review and calibration before production starts.
- We are performing a similar process for fulfillment and shipping. With outreach complete, we have several discussions lined up to evaluate potential providers based on experience and track record, global scope/reach, and price. Will share more as things take shape.
- And by way of summary, thanks to gamers around the world we continue to pick up new backers and orders well after the campaign closed! We are at ~500 orders in ~30 countries globally. A massive thank you to all of you - let's keep the momentum going!
We can't wait to get Song for War on tables around the world!

Song for War Update | 2 Dec 2025

Hello Song for War team!
I hope everyone is having a terrific week and (for our US backers) coming off of a very happy Thanksgiving holiday! As always, the folks here at Invicta Rex Games are incredibly grateful for your support and the opportunity to bring Song for War to you in 2026. Here's the latest news:
- Production: We're happy to report that production of Song for War is on track and we continue to pick up new orders along the way (thank you!). We remain in discussion with our top manufacturer and - barring unforeseen setbacks - are on target to deliver Song for War by our Summer 2026 timeline. Should we hit any speed bumps that impact our timing, we will be sure to let all of you know.
- Stretch goals: We completed the re-order and expansion of the rule book to encompass all the new mini-scenarios unlocked during the Kickstarter, revised and further tested the tournament time rules, and finished all the components for the 6-player commanders expansion game. And we've been making progress on the solo rules which are on track to be ready for the print-and-play on our website in the Summer of 2026 as well.
- Other buzz: In November we attended the first-ever Battlefront: Dayton event hosted by our friends at Board Game Nation (BGN). It was a great time! The Song for War table was full of new players each day - and we even got a chance to swap design stories with Larry Harris, the legendary creator of Axis & Allies! Song for War tied for 2nd place for BGN's 2025 Ignis Award for the best new game (we missed out by a few votes!). In early 2026, we expect to have a new review of Song for War by the Dice Treasures on their YouTube channel. We will be sure to send it around with links once issued.
That's all the news for now, and rest assured we will keep you posted along the way. Have a great rest of 2025 and thanks again for all of your support. Drop a line any time.

Latest News & Progress!

Hi team,
Hope you had a fabulous Summer! We wanted to share an update on recent developments as we build out the stretch goals and march toward manufacturing and shipping Song for War!
- 5 New Short Scenarios (Stretch Goal #1): All 5 of the short scenarios are designed and are being play-tested. The scenarios range from 1-4 players and will run about 30-90 mins. As a reminder, the scenarios are: 1) Allied Landing at Salerno; 2) Battle of Monte Cassino; 3) Axis Siege of Tobruk; 4) Axis Invasion of Crete; and the 5) Allied Invasion of Sicily.
- 6-Player Commander Expansion (Stretch Goal #2): The rules for the 6-player game (where each player takes command of the Air, Land, or Sea of the Axis or Allies to create a 3 vs. 3 player game) are complete. The Player Aids have been designed and the unique abilities for Air, Land, and Sea identified - making for a fun night around the gaming table.
- Solo Bot Expansion (Stretch Goal #3): While we didn't reach this stretch goal officially, we did commit to a print-and-play solo bot to be ready next summer around the time the game is shipped. We have made design progress on the initial mechanics with continued focus on two scenarios: 1) Mediterranean Theater 1943 and 2) Allied Invasion of Italy.
- Upgraded Unit National Support Cards: Based on a full review of the game for IP usage and protection, we shifted the names of the National Support Cards for Upgraded Units, just to err on the side of caution. For example, upgraded light bombers for Germany will be named Dive Bomber (also aligns with the Stuka), and the B-17 will be a Long-Range Heavy Bomber. All of the abilities of the upgraded units and associated game mechanics are unchanged.
Thanks again for all of your support. We can't wait to get the game on tables around the world!

Hi team!
We're only a few clicks away from 90% of backers having confirmed their order and shipping info in the Pledge Manager, BackerKit. In the coming weeks we will lock the orders that are complete (but don't worry, you'll still be able to update your shipping info and address if it changes).
If you are part of the 10% that have not yet responded to BackerKit, please respond as soon as possible. We don't want you to miss out! For these open orders, I also sent an email direct from Invicta Rex Games with a link to your order/survey page in BackerKit. In each case, the emails were sent to the email address you entered on Kickstarter.
Remember! It's possible for the Pledge Manager emails from BackerKit to land in your spam folder so please check for it.
In a few months the Pledge Manager will close. After the pledge manager closes, we cannot process refunds. We will provide advance notice of the date as we get closer.
Thanks everyone. We are making amazing progress thanks to you!
